Cahors is good wine country and the area is also noted for many fine medieval towns including Lauzerte, Moissac, with its famous cloister and Montcuq, a bustling market town. The dramatic Gorges du Tarn and Albi with its wonderful cathedral and the Toulouse-Lautrec museum, while within approximately 2 hours you can be at the sea or in the Pyrenees.
Saint Antonin Noble Val is a historic citadel with some houses in the town dating from the 13th century situated on the banks of the Aveyron, it has reputedly the best Sunday market in the region. There is kayaking available on the river. There are several very nice walks . There are woodlansds where walking amongst true nature and wildlife is a real delight. Lots of quiet roads for cycling. Toulouse, Montauban and Albi are for those wanting big city culture and shopping. Many other historic villages and sites all throught the Tarn et Garonne. Within easy distance is Gaillac wine region.
